Alumni Ambassador Program

The Office of Admissions invites you, our YDS alumni to help us recruit and inspire the next generation of exceptional students to Yale Divinity School through the Alumni Ambassadors Program.

The Alumni Ambassador Program provides a unique opportunity for alumni to engage with prospective students by sharing your story and experiences, offering insights into the academic and spiritual formation at Yale Divinity School.

Your YDS story has the power to open a door for someone else. Your journey at YDS and the ways you have carried that experience into your life, ministry, vocation, and the world is more than just a story. It is a powerful testimony to what is possible through a YDS education.

As an Alumni Ambassador, you’ll help future students gain a deeper understanding of YDS, its values, and the transformative theological education it offers. Your involvement not only strengthens their connection to our community but also fosters a sense of belonging throughout the admissions process. Your story can inspire theirs and can be the encouragement a prospective student needs to take the next step towards a future at YDS.

Panel Discussions: Participate in panel discussions reflecting on your time at YDS and post-graduate experiences

Interview Applicants: Conduct interviews with applicants and offering them a chance to share their academic and vocational goals

Host Recruitment Event: Host events at your church or institution to inform prospective students about the unique offerings of YDS

Attend Campus Events: Attend our annual Fall Open House and Spring Admitted Students Day to welcome students to campus

Regional Engagement: Represent YDS at conference; connect with prospective students in your local area through coffee chats and phone calls

Congratulation Notes/Videos: Write notes or record videos congratulating admitted students (you send us the notes, we do the work of sending them out through our database)
